100_6244Etchells have survived and thrived despite being robbed of the Olympic status when they were first designed (the Soling got the nod).  A perfect example of a boat that was considered by some to be awkward looking when it first appeared, but now has become a sailing icon.  Beautiful, but geared toward serious sailors - lots of lines to tweak.   Watch out for wet balsa core in decks of older models.
