Having an inboard diesel engine is a huge feature as well. If you haven't had a boat with a diesel inboard, it's hard to appreciate just how much better it is than a boat with a gasoline outboard. You don't have to deal with the gas tank, lugging the engine around (or hanging it off the stern), the constant gas smell, or leaning off the transom to get the engine started. The Yanmar 1GM engine is always ready to kick in, which is as much a safety feature as a convenience.
